ADEC Solutions pursues third Certification, ISO 14000:2004 in regards to an Environmental Management System.

May 11, 2009

As per ADEC's commitment of continual improvement towards quality and customer satisfaction, which started back in 2005 with our year-on-year success to initiate the certification of a Quality Management System to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000, and then again in 2007 for ISO / IEC 27001:2005 in regards to an Information Security Management System (ISMS), ADEC has always recognized the importance of 'Customer Satisfaction'.

About ISO 14001:2004

ISO 14001 was first published in 1996 and specifies the actual requirements for an Environmental Management System (EMS). The main thrust for its development came as a result of the Rio Summit on the Environment held in 1992.

ISO 14000 is a series of international standards on environmental management and provides an outline for the development of an Environmental Management System (EMS) along with a supporting audit program. ISO 14001 is often seen as the foundation stone standard of the ISO 14000 series and is the only ISO 14000 standard that can be certified by an e xternal certification body.

This standard applies to any organization that wishes to:

  • Implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system.
  • Create confidence and conformance within its own stated environmental policy.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Seek certification of its environmental management system by an external third

    party organization.

  • Create a self-determination of conformance.
